My Story

After a long hiatus I'm back, and it's exciting to be here. While away, I worked on writing projects. I became a grandmother. Using the archetypal triad or ancient Moon stages of Maiden, Mother and Crone to describe myself, I guess you could say I've entered the stage of the Crone.

So who am I?

I AM A WOMAN who cares deeply about what’s happening on the planet. I love being in the city, but I must live near the land, near wild water and trees, under skies where I can see the stars at night. My favorite outdoor activity is mountain hiking. I’m married to a wonderful man. We have one son and daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, and two granddogs.

I AM A WRITER. Over the past 40+ years, I've begun novels, essay collections, short stories, a screenplay, countless little poems, and what I hope one day will become a musical. Most of these projects remain unfinished. For years I had a stressful, deadline-driven day job.I used to be a closet writer. I was shy about my writing; suffered  a dearth of belief in myself. I guess I could've given up the day job, but I wasn’t too interested in being a starving artist. For lots of reasons, up till recently, writing generally got put on the back burner. But not anymore!

Currently I’m adapting a novel I wrote and self-published in 2012 into a screenplay. I’m also working on a collection of essays comparing the Sermon on the Mount to Woodstock and exploring modern American culture. [Read book excerpt published at Rebelle Society

I AM A SEEKER, a practitioner and perpetual student of body/energy work, with a focus on Reiki. My spirituality is a very important part of who I am.

And, I AM AN ACTIVIST. I have to be. I think we all have an obliglation to be activists in these hard times. I view activism as sacred and required work according to the teachings of Christ and other spiritual leaders. We live in a time when everyone is needed in the fight for human and environmental justice and transformation, including YOU.
