The story of Sissy Dare is a bit like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, or Dorothy who went to Oz, with perhaps a darker side. It is a story of innocence colliding with the profane.
Her life is a whirlwind of activity and deep love which takes Sissy to another land, a land totally unlike the one she left but with its own unique beauty, excitement and treasures, as well as danger and things which cause sorrow and pain.
Her journey will take her, and the reader, through the war-torn, riotous '60s; the psychedelic '70s; the excesses of the '80s until, ultimately, it takes Sissy not only back home to the hills she so dearly loves, but to herself.
